All children in school on Wednesday 17/10/18 attended an OPAL assembly where we celebrated the amazing opportunities they have experienced this half term. Together we discussed the benefits of play and all of the amazing resources that have been treated with great respect. Many children stood up and shared their favourite activities and celebrated receiving their reward raffle tickets. At the awards assembly on Friday 19th two lucky names will be drawn out of the hat and the winners will receive a special OPAL prize! The children receive raffle tickets for showing great skill, amazing behaviour, being kind, caring and respectful. The adults on duty may also reward children for being seen having a wonderful play experience full of creativity and active engagement.
At the assembly the children unanimously agreed that their playtimes are much better since OPAL. Here are a few of their comments :
“We love the music”
“I love being in the secret garden”
“I love being on the field”
“My camp is going to be even better than this tomorrow”
“We think it’s fair and safe to have two people on a ramp slide at once, but can we put two slides together?”
“It helps us look after each other and be good examples for the little ones”
