European Day of Languages
Children at St. Cuthbert’s enjoyed celebrating ‘European Day of Languages’ on Monday 27th September.
Children across both key stages looked at some maps of Europe, using physical atlases and online, making a list of which countries belong in Europe. They then explored which languages are spoken in each country and how to greet somebody by saying ‘Hello’ or ‘Good day’ in this language. As an extra challenge, the children then learnt how to identify some flags for a range of European countries.
The children showed great interest and enthusiasm when exploring a range of European countries this year and completing a quiz to test their knowledge. Well done children!
